Discover Borderlands Shakespeare at our events

The Borderlands Shakespeare Colectiva hosts events that uplift and connect Chicanx, Latinx, and Indigenous artists, educators, activists, and scholars. Through readings, performances, and community gatherings, we aim to spotlight exciting creative endeavors and promote the socially just and decolonial futures imagined in el arte de La Frontera.

Our events have emerged through collaborations with many partner organizations, including the San Antonio Public Library, Nuestra Palabra: Latino Writers Having Their Say, the Latino Bookstore at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, Teatro Audaz, Humanities Texas, and the Red Bull Theater. Through readings, performances, and community gatherings we strive to amplify the talented playwrights, compelling stories, and actors creating the future of Borderlands Shakespeare.

We were proud to host the launch of Volume 1 of The Bard in the Borderlands at the only Latino bookstore in Texas in collaboration with Nuestra Palabra.

In partnership with Teatro Audaz, we co-produced a thrilling new production of Gregg Barrios’s I-DJ, a play that explores queer Chicanx experience.

We enjoyed collaborating with the San Antonio Public Library’s Latino Collection and Resource Center and the Creative Arts Studio for the launch of Volume 2 of The Bard in the Borderlands.
